1) £30, 2) £30, 3) £25

These are my three favorite dresses from River Island. To be honest, most of their dresses weren't quite up my street, but these three are absolute gems! T Geometric Tshirt Dress (no. 1) is my favorite!

Review- L'Oreal Skin Perfection Oil Cleanser

Hi Guys!

Today I'm going to review the L'Oreal Skin Perfection Oil cleanser. It is an oil that you massage into dry skin then rinse off with warm water.

It effectively breaks down foundation and other facial products, and leaves the skin feeling clean, soft and not at all stripped.

It also removes eye makeup, although it does take a bit of scrubbing, and despite it not stinging if it gets into the eyes, it does make your vision a bit blurry because of the oil.

So, there is one major downfall to this product- the primary ingredient is Mineral Oil. This is a waste product from petrol production (I believe) that can clogg pores, causing under the skin spots, and cause people to 'break out'. For me though, mineral oil doesn't seem to have too much of an effect, especially as I only tend to use this cleanser in the evening.

Overall, I'd reccomend this oil-based cleanser because it does the job, is unscented, and (resonably) cheap at £7.99 from Boots.

Have you guys tried this or any other oil cleansers? What do you think of them?

Have a good week!

These are my most coveted Topshop skirts- I love the unique shapes/fabrics/prints of Topshop's pieces compared to other highstret brands. Let me know which one's your favourite - I like them all!

Top Apps

Top Apps

Hello everyone,
Today I thought I'd share with you my favourite iphone apps as I personally love discovering new wonderful apps!

1) Instagram is a major favourite! It's great for when you're trying to kill time waiting or you're just bored! I love all the artistic, inspiring photographs from some of my favourite users (beautyandsomebeef is a really lovely food Instagram).

2) Timehop is an app that revisits your posts on social media on the day you go on the app every year... I'm not explaining this very clearly, so just download the app and you'll see!

3) PicCollage is a really good photo editing app which allows you to create cut-out collages.

4) RUA2 or Rainbow Unicorn Attack 2 is an action game but with a rainbow unicorn as the main character. You only have two controls- jump and dash, and using those two controls you have to jump over gaps and 'blast' through star-crystal things!

5) Snapchat is an infamous photo messaging app, enabling you to send videos or pictures to your friends for a maximum of 10 seconds. I always send the most flattering pics of me to my friends!

6) The Daily Mail is another good app for when you are bored and it is especially good on the tube as it works off-line too! Yes, the quality of the articles is not great, but I never tire of reading the "my sister had an affair with my husband and got pregnant with quadruplets" type stories or "My body started eating itself" and it is a good quick way to keep updated with current affairs.

So, those were my 6 favourite apps of the moment- comment below letting my know about yours!

Holy Grail products

Hi guys!
Sorry for the absence but I'm in the middle of my GCSE final exams! I'm sure most of you know how stressful this time is!

Anyway, today's post is going to be all about my holy grail products, which I've repurchased time and time again and just could not live without!

- St Ives Face Apricot Rejuvinating Face Scrub. I didn't use this scrub for a week and my skin went a really odd, bumpy texture, where I guess my skin was just really clogged up. I then used the St Ives scrub, and straight away there was a noticeable difference and my skin was back to normal. Since (and before) then I use the scrub when i wash my hair, which is around every three-to-four days, and my skin remains clear and of a smooth texture. Also, this scrub is a brilliant drugstore find at £5 but has often been on offer.

- Burts Bees Beeswax Lip Balm. I've repurchased this lip balm about 6 times now and never foresee stopping! It moisturises the lips instantly and keeps them so, you don't need to reapply it too much during the day and it isn't at all glossy (so good for image conscious men too!). It also has a wonderful minty fragrance, which I love because it is a non-offensive smell- I don't know anyone who strongly dislikes mint- and it also makes your breath smell minty!

Those are my two holy grail products- I know, not many at all but I truly love these two, and I'll be sure to do another post when I find more holy grail/most repurchased products!

Thankyou for reading!

Testing the trends- Blue eyeshadow?

Blue eyeshadow is very very scary. I've avoided colours on my eyes for years, as I'm sure most people have, due to its attention-grabbing nature.
Blue eyeshadow does have a really bad reputation (google 'old lady blue eyeshadow') which is a shame, as through testing it today, I think it really brings an appropriate pop of colour, if applied the right way and in moderation!

Products used:
-Rimmel Scandaleyes eyeshadow stick in Tempting Turquoise
-Barry M TMLP lip paint (the green one)

I think using the Barry M lipstick/stain really promotes the sports-luxe look, especially teamed with the blue eyeliner.

Also, this makeup is all pretty much waterproof- and would look brilliant with a bikini!

What do you lot think of the blue eyes trend? Comment below!

Thanks for reading,

Savings list...

Hi guys!

Today I'm going to be sharing my 'To save up for' list with you guys!

  • Real Techniques brushes- These brushes are infamous over the interwebs, and right now, I have no good-quality brushes that work for me. However, theses brushes are expensive, so I'm saving up for the whole collection!
  • Essie Mint Candy Apple- I've wanted this nail polish since I first started watching YouTube videos and reading blogs. I dare say I don't even need this nail polish as I have bought so many different mint colours over the years looking for the perfect one, but I think it is such a perfect mint and I am anxious to try out the infamous Essie formula.
  • Some Good Quality straighteners. My straighteners at the moment are by Topshop and they're the mini travel ones. I also have some by Vidal Sassoon but they have very wide plates and are only efficient at straightening the hair. So, I really need some good quality straighteners to use to curl or wave my hair, as I prefer the curl/wave given by straighteners than by curlers. I have, however, no idea which ones i want! I'm not willing to spend more than £30 as I do not forsee using the straighteners to curl my hair too often! If you have any recommendations let me know in the comments below!
Those are the items on my 'To save for' list! I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Makeup Wishlist- Other

Hi guys! This is the fourth post in my 'Makeup wishlist" series. This is the 'other' wishlist- these items have not been included in the previous 3 'Wishlist' posts I've done (Nails, lipsticks and bases). For that reason it has very few things on it (which is probably not a bad thing for my bank balance).

MAKEUP WISHLIST - OTHER

  • Soap and glory supercat eyeliner- I've heard great things about this felt-tip eyeliner! It is meant to have a very sharp nib, perfect for evening out wonky winged liner! I am a big fan of the L'Oreal Super Liner Carbon Gloss because I find it so easy to apply and it doesn't smudge or transfer throughout the day- hopefully this can live up to those expectations!
  • Fashionista blushes/eyeshadows- I've tried one of Fashionista's eyeshadows, which didn't really impress me as it was mostly glitter, but hopefully the matte shades are more pigmented! The main selling point of Fahsionista powder products is that you can buy a quad palette to put them all in for £4, without having to messily depot them. The only thing that put me off is the name- a little try-hard, no?
  • Rimmel Santa Rose blush- I am constantly on the hunt for a blush that doesn't make me look like I've been slapped, as due to my pale complexion some of the blush shades are a little too "natural"for comfort. This one seems to be a pinky-peach with gold shimmers running through, which will be a shade I haven't yet tried- I'll keep y'all updated!
  • MUA Mosaic Blush in English Rosevoussontbeauetbelle mentioned this blush in her "everyday products" video, saying that it was just right for her pale skin, so I want to try this product to see if this is the case for me! I love the healthy glow a blush can give-but only if it is the right colour!
  • Garnier 5 second blur- I recently saw this advertised on TV, and was instantly intregued. How can a white primer improve imperfections and pores with no makeup over the top? At £12.99 from Boots it is a little more than I'd like to pay for a primer that I've not seen any reviews about, so I'm going to wait until there are a few reviews floating around the interwebs!
That was the last 'wishlist' of this series!

Have a great week everyone and please let me know in the comments your current makeup wishlist!

Makeup Wishlist- Bases

Hi Guys!

This is another 'Makeup wishlish' installment, on foundations and concealers! Enjoy!

MAKEUP WISHLIST- BASES

  • Revlon colour stay foundation- This foundation is very popular with the youtube beauty community, and is, I gather, a full coverage foundation. I also believe they do this is quite a pale shade, so at the moment this is top of my wishlist!
  • Max factor experience foundation- I have heard FashionRocksMySocks go on about this foundation, mainly because there is a very pale shade available. I believe it is a full coverage foundation, and retails for about £10.
  • Bourjois healthy mix serum- I really want to try this foundation, however the lightest shade seems just too dark! This is a problem I have with most foundations, so instead of buying it anyway (as I would have a few years ago) I'm going to wait and hope that they release some more shades-I have tried the original healthy mix foundation, and the shade I had in that was the palest shade (51), and it was still slightly too dark in the summer!
  • Revlon nearly naked foundation- This foundation seems like the perfect summer foundation as it is quite a light foundation. The only thing putting me off buying it is that the palest shade seems just too dark!
  • Soap and glory kick ass concealer- I've heard that this concealer is meant to be good, and at the moment the infamous Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer is just not working for me as I find it can be drying on my spots, so I'm currently in the market for a new one.
  • L'Oreal true match foundation- The main reason I want to try this foundation is that *fingers crossed* they may have a shade pale enough for yours truly!
  • Gosh xceptional wear foundation- I haven't heard too much about this, and I haven't tried much from Gosh so I think this foundation may be a good place to start? Also, some other pale youtubers use it, so hopefully there is a nice pale shade!
So that is my foundation wishlist! What's on yours?

Hope you have a great week!

Makeup Wishlist-NAILS

SO, this is the second post i've done regarding the makeup wishlist on my phone. This installment is all about NAIL POLISH!

MAKEUP WISHLIST- NAILS

  • Any Khaki nail polish- This was more of an Autumn/Winter wishlist item, but I still haven't found a khaki nail polish for under £5! The hunt continues...
  • Barry m nail varnish silvery lilac- I've heard that this nail polish is slightly holographic, and I'm intregued. I've never delved into the world of Holographic-ness before, so for £3 I'm excited to try it!
  • Barry m nail polish textured- I'll be honest- this nail polish does not look good- It just looks like your nails have smudged when drying. However, having said that, I've only gathered this opinion through blogs and suchlike, not actually with my own eyes, so I'm intrigued to see what this is really like on my nails, and see what the wear time is like, and how easy it is to remove.
  • Fashionista rhythm nail polish- I believe I heard about this nailpolish through Whatihearttoday's Essie alternatives video, and thought that it looked like an interesting colour, so I wanna try it!
  • Barry M gelly nail paint in Papaya- I like the formula of these polishes-they still aren't my favorites, but they have a brilliant colour range so I'm willing to put any issues I have with BarryM nail paints in general to one side so that I can enjoy the pretty colours.
  • Models own scented nail polish in Grapejuice- I've been on the hunt for a replacement of one of my favourite nail polishes, Parma Violet by Topshop, as mine has dried out and gone goopy and the colour has separated horrendously, so aside from the scent, this looks like it could be a good dupe! I'll try and do a blog post on purple nail polish at some point to keep you guys updated on my hunt.
  • Bourjois so laque nail polish in green- This shade isnt actually called 'green', but I can't find the correct name or the shade online anywhere, however, I heard about this polish again through WhatIhearttoday's Essie video, and thought that it looked like a gorgeous pistachio shade., that i'm now dying to try!

So, those were all the nail polishes on my Nail Polish Wishlist-I'll keep you guys updated on any that I buy!

Hope you all have a wonderful week!

Makeup Wishlist- LIPS

Upon suffering from a major lack of inspiration of what to post on here,  I turned to the 'notes' on my phone. On here is where I make a hell of a lot of lists - like this one, my makeup wishlist!

I tend to add things to this list that I have heard other bloggers mention (in my price range) and want to try out for myself, so today I thought I'd share it with you all in 3 segments; Lips, nails, bases and other.

MAKEUP WISHLIST- LIPS

  • Soap and glory lip crayons- I L-O-V-E the Revlon kissable balm stains, and understand these to be similar products with a wider shade range, so need to get my hands on these!
  • Sleek papaya punch lipstick- This is a new release, and at the moment i've majorly been loving wearing plain old winged liner with a crazy bright lipstick, and from what i've heard this is an orange-y tone lipstick, with an sheen-y finish.
  • Gosh flirty orange lipstick- Similar to the reasons for Sleek's Papaya punch, however I saw this on llymlrs's beauty blog and thought it looked like such a fun, spring/summer colour!
  • Sleek loved up lipstick- Having previously thought that bright pinks don't suit me and looked slightly tacky, I think its time to actually buy a bright pink lipstick before I decide it won't look right.
  • Rimmel 102 foxy lippy-I have forever been on the hunt for the perfect nude that is the right shade and the right formula, so hopefully this is the one?
  • Rimmel nude delight lipstick-yet another nude.... I'm sure when i'm in boots I'll just choose one...
  • Sleek cranberry lipstick- I know the weather in England is getting (slightly) brighter, but I have recently found the confidence to wear dark vampy lipsticks, so I've been buying them like a mad woman- this will be the last one 'til September-Promise!
  • Maybelline pink brown lipstick- I heard about this lipstick from Sammi AKA Beautycrush's Mac Dupes video, I thought I better check it out as-yep, you guessed it- ANOTHER nude.
  • 17 mirror shine lipstick cheeky secret,
  • 17 mirror shine lipstick beehive- A repurchase because these have been reformulated so they're more moisturizing than they were previously, so I'd like to test out these new formulas in comparison to the Revlon Lip Butters.
  • 17 mirror shine lipstick roasted red,
  • 17 mirror shine lipstick belle,
  • 17 mirror shine lipstick secret

That is everything on my lipstick wishlist for now! If you lot want reviews on any of the lippies (once I've bought them) then let me know and I'd be happy to!

Have a great week!

This was such a pathetic post, but in 2 weeks there will be hauls, tutorials, DIY's-EVERYTHING COS I'M ON HOLIDAY THEN!

January Wishlist

At the moment I am starting to attempt to save money for a laptop =, so there is a limited amount of shopping I can do. I do, however, intend to do these post of the items that, should I suddenly come across money, I would buy.

This lot is all from Topshop:

Pah. Dream on Emillie.

Oh well... What is life if you don't dream? Oooh i'm getting all philosophical...

....... The annual shock

Hello!

So, after the last... disappointing.... post, I feel i should make up for it with a extra long one now. Yay.

So, for Christmas my brother got a bike (For all the bikey-people out there, apparently it is a "Hybrid" or so I am told..) and I got a black Wii with Mario Kart and Just Dance 2. After present opening, every year we go to my Aunties who cooks the roast, and we did the same this year. This winter, I have got very into knitting, and so I asked my Auntie if she had any wool or needles left over from when her mum was around (Her mum, Auntie Cathy, died about 6 years ago and was a strong knitter. She used to knit me and my brother jumpers all the time... I still have one Cardi left, although it is a rather bright shade of pink, but nothing a bit of fabric dye won't fix)
So, I asked her daughter, my Auntie Janet, if she had any old knitting stuff left. She said that they had given all the wool to a charity shop, but they might still have needles, so we went to have a look. In the wardrobe we found tens of jumpers, all knitted by Auntie Cathy. Some were a little... bright, but there were some also that I LOVED and were very 60's. My Auntie Janet kindly said I could take 5, on the conditions that I tried each one on and 'paraded' in front of my Granddad, Grandma, Mum, Dad, Brother, Dog and my Great Uncle, Great Auntie Cathy's' husband. So, I picked up 5 brilliant, unique vintagey jumpers, all hand knitted by my Great Aunt. I think that was honestly the best christmas present.

On Boxing day we went shopping, not so much for the sales, but more for getting Wii games, spending Christmas money and buying a few essentials. One of the essentials I needed was jeans, as I actually don't have any decent ones that fit, don't have holes in the bum and are comfy. It was during this that I picked up all the nice jeans I saw in 10's, then I thought i'd pick up some 12's to try on, just in case, but more to prove to myself that my legs arn't as big as I see them. But lo and behold, I didnt fit into the 10's. I was always a skinny child, usually wearing one agegroup down from my age, and when youre little, when things dont fit it's cos youve grown. When you're big, when things dont fit, its cos youre getting fat. I'm 14 now, and this is the first (of many i'm guessing) time I havent fitted something becasue of the fat. My problem with it isnt that I think 12's fat, it's just my top half is an 8, so I feel all out of propoption, and I kpt thinking "oh, I have a high metabolism, I can get away with having a Large milkshake everyday" which now clearly I cannot. So, I have set a target on mr Just Dance 2 to do 3 dances a day which "Sweat" about 200-500 each, and eat a lotta fruit instead of chocolate. I am now also only allowed a milkshake once a week, and if I dont get one one week, it doesnt mean im allowed two the next, cos that would be counter productive.
Also in boxing day shopping, I bought a couple of other things:
Sleek Lipstick in Vamp £3.99

Zara Iris "Powdery Woody and Floral" £9.99. Bargain!
After boxing day, I didnt do much except my family drove to a town on the border of Scotland called Moffat (We were staying in Newcastle, so it was only a 2hr Journey) and we had lunch there, and they had a brilliant old sweet shop and homemade fudge and really lovely villagey Christmas lights.

The day-after-boxing-day we spent in the car driving down from Newcastle. And thats it.

Harry Potter marathon

Omgeeeezzzzz,

I'm so so so so so so so so so so excited! Today (In about 20mins) I'm leaving my house and going to my best friend of 7years' house, and we'ra gonna watch all the Harry Potters. According to google it will take 23hrs. So, we are having a sleepover and a eat-a-thon, then in the morning once we've finished all 8 movies, we will play just dance, to try and work off all that food and laziness. Fun.

Then my family and I are going to Leeds, to visit some family friends. The plan was to stay there two nights, then drive up to newcastle, where my Grandparents live. Unfortunately, my Grandma has a chest infection, so my Granddad doesn't want me and my brother and my mum and my dad and my dog up there to give her any more germs. So, the new plan is for us to visit our family friends, stay there for one night instead of two, drive up to newcastle, then stay there for one night, drive back down to London on Christmas Eve and then spend Christmas at home, but my Dad to stay up in Newcastle with his parents fro Christmas day.

I am glad that we can stay at home for Christmas, because this means I can use my Wii when I unwrap it, and that I can go sale shopping on Boxing day with my muslim best friend. We can also celebrate with the lodgers, who would probably be at home on their own for Christmas, so we can now play board games, share our roast with them and all that.

What are yo doing for Christmas? Something fun I hope!

Merry Christmas!

Welcome :D

Hiya,

Welcome to Emillie's Messy Drawer, my blog about everything. Mess. Maybe one day this blog will be as messy and filled with unrelated crap as my bedroom? Who knows?

Christmas is coming up, and I am so excited!!! I've asked "Santa" for a Wii, because when all the other kids were getting those for christmas, I was getting an iPod or a DS. DS'S ARE COOL. Anyywaaayyyy so now I'm 14 I want a Wii. I've also asked for some black dm's, a new watch and a cool hot water bottle cover.... I will upload pictures of the day, of course!

As for other peoples presents, I'm almost sorted.... with 5 days till the 25th time is running out.... I still need to buy a Tshirt from David and Goliath for my best friend of 7years, and a present for my other bestie, but she's muslim, so I think if my present's a little late, it wont matter too much.... I've got my brother some Home Simpson Slippers, where you put your feet in his mouth and a face wash, body wash and facial moisturiser from Plain Lazy, as he doesn't wash his face, and needs to. Badly. I have got my Mum Hugo Boss Orange perfume (75ml), slipper socks from Primark (She asked for them, i tells ya!) and a mascara and a nail varnish. As for my Dad... I'll give him a voucher for me not to talk to him or disturb him from work for 24hrs-he'll love it. Every year we ask him "What do you want?!?" and he says "Peace and quiet" so this year he'll get just that. For a day.

I will post pictures of the presents on christmas day, it's just that I wrapped them up before I created this blog and wrote this blogpost!!!

Lots of love and Merry Christmas'
Emillie xxxx
